Mild heat returns Friday with temps in the upper 80s

Live 5 Meteorologist Chad Watson says it will cool off a little Friday, with temps topping out in the mid to upper 80s.

Sunshine returns for Friday and brings with it much lower humidity thanks to a front that moved off the coast early this morning. Winds out of the north all day around 5-10mph will make it feel much milder and not allow any excessive heat to work its way back into your outdoor plans for the last day of the week. Highs today are in the mid to upper 80s with a extreme UV index if you plan to head to the beach or the pool. The great weather lasts all weekend including Fathers Day on Sunday.

Battery beaten by Real Salt Lake in Open Cup

Thursday temps to hit upper 90s, feel like 105°

Live 5 Meteorologist Chad Watson says it is going to be another steaming-hot day in the Lowcountry:

The high humidity and temps reaching highs in the upper 90s today will make for a sizzler today across the Lowcountry. The heat index values today will quickly top the 100° mark by mid-day and top out in the 105-110° range along the coastal counties from 2pm till around 6pm. With that being the case, the NWS has issued a heat advisory from 2-6pm to account for the very hot weather. Stay inside if you can, stay cool and hydrated if you have to be outside. Take care of the pets as well. There is a chance of storms late tonight that could be strong as they move in around 11pm-2am.
