CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC)- Authorities arrested eight people in a home in the North Central neighborhood of downtown Charleston on Tuesday after a search warrant uncovered crack cocaine along with items that police say can be used for distribution purposes.

Anthony Frasier-Smith, 29, Irene Green, 39, Thomas Gilliard, 57, Cori Jones, 38, William Adams, 36, Eric Bowens, 38, DeAngelo Watson, 40, and Edward Rivers, 38, have been arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine.

According to an incident report, Charleston police performed a search warrant at 56 Cypress St around 6:20 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 5. After announcing their presence several times, police forced their way into the home.

Police say the eight suspects were found in different rooms throughout the home.

The report states a search of the home uncovered a handgun, a number of plastic baggies containing crack cocaine, digital scales, and a total of $726 in cash on three of the suspects. The crack cocaine weighed a total of 6 grams.

Officers say the baggies containing crack cocaine were found hidden around the home, such as in a bathroom laundry basket, in a plant by a fireplace, and in a vent return.

Police say one twenty-dollar bill and one ten-dollar bill that was found on Frasier-Smith was used for a previous controlled purchase of narcotics.

All suspects were taken to the Charleston County Detention Center.
