CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Local residential architects of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and Custom Residential Architects Network (CRAN) will participate in a design charrette to create several affordable housing designs.  The charrette will take place on Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Civic Design Center (85 Calhoun Street) in downtown Charleston.

The goal of the charrette is to produce architectural drawings for affordable housing for vacant lots or spaces on the peninsula, raise awareness of affordable housing in downtown Charleston, and provide local architects the opportunity to apply good design principles to affordable housing projects.
