DOWNTOWN (WCSC) - It's that time again!  Second Sunday returns to King Street this week and there's plenty going on for you to enjoy.

Pure Theatre will have a tent set up celebrating their 10th season.  You can find out about what performances they've got planned this year and if you wish, you can go ahead and purchase tickets.

Beatcopter will be on the scene as well with there remote-control helicopter demos you can enjoy.

Affordable Boutique will have their "Living Windows" exhibit on display.

Baker Cadillac of West Ashley will be there with the new XTS "car of the future."

As Restaurant Week continues, you can get a chance to purchase tickets in person after getting feedback from the cullinary experts.

Wild Dunes will have a tent and golf practice green just South of market to celebrate being ranked #3 in Travel+Leisure magazine's "World Best Hotels for Families".

DOWNTOWN (WCSC) - Butterfly Consignment Boutique will host a "Collegiate Spring Shop and Save Event" today from 4-8 p.m. at the store located at 482 King Street.

There will be discounts on a variety of spring fashions including dresses, skirts, tops, shoes and more.  They'll also have hourly prize drawings, refreshments, and free "mini-makeovers" provided by the Virginia College in Charleston cosmetology team.

Holiday prompts changes to garbage, yard waste pick-up schedule

CHARLESTON COUNTY (WCSC) - The garbage and yard waste collection in Charleston County will change a bit this week because of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.

Monday routes will be collected on Tuesday, Tuesday routes will be collected on Wednesday, Wednesday routes will be collected on Thursday, and Thursday routes will be collected on Friday.

As for yard waste, the same one-day delay rules apply, except for residents whose yard waste is regularly collected on Thursday.  In their case, yard waste won't be collected until the following Thursday.

Abercrombie & Fitch closes King St store

Abercrombie & Fitch closes King St store

DOWNTOWN (WCSC) - The Abercrombie & Fitch store on King Street is closed.

Store employees said the store, located between Hasell and Wentworth streets, closed its doors last Saturday, for good. 

It will be interesting to see what opens up in its place.

DOWNTOWN (WCSC) - It's no secret to those in the Lowcountry but readers of the the US News & World Report's online Travel page learned Wednesday that King Street is one of America's 10-best shopping streets.

The peninsula's popular artery rubs shoulders with some other ritzy thoroughfares on the top-10 list, including: Rodeo Drive in Los Angeles, Michigan Avenue in Chicago, Fillmore Street in San Francisco, and Fifth Avenue in New York.
