DOWNTOWN (WCSC) - Seven endangered sea turtles have a new home, thanks to the folks at the South Carolina Aquarium.
The turtles were flown in on a private jet Sunday afternoon from the New England Aquarium in Boston. That aquarium ran out of room and was no longer able to provide the turtles with the necessary medical attention.
The sea turtles are in a state called “cold stunning” which is a hypothermic state that makes it impossible for them to migrate during the winter.
They’ll remain at the SC Aquarium until they’re ready for release this Spring.
